Vampire Junkie

The happy homemaker stepped up next to me, hand stroking over my arm. I stepped away from her, her fingers sliding over my skin. Her nails left little red lines on my arm. I resisted the urge to rub them. I was a tough as nails vampire slayer; scratches didn't bother me. The look in the woman's eyes did. She looked like she wondered what flavor I was and how long I'd last. I had never been looked at that way by another woman. I didn't like it much.

Commentary * Vampire junkies are humans that get a high off of being food for a vampire. More specifically, they are a type of sadomasochist, enjoying both giving and receiving pain, especially from vampires.  They will often hold what are called freak parties where humans dress in lingerie or leather with the purpose of offering themselves to the vampires which come later. Often these parties also turn into orgies.

* They are decried by The Church of Eternal Life and various members of that group have tried to seek out and stop these "perversions" as they are called by any means necessary. Although these tactics are not condoned by the church, they are not eager to cease and desist either. These people are giving the image of vampires being sadomasochist, which is something the church is trying to change.
