Vampire Executioners

There had been some talk that cutting off their arms and legs would allow us to keep vamps in jail. This was vetoed mainly on the grounds of cruel and unusual punishment... If cutting someone's arms and legs off and putting them in a little box for all eternity isn't torture, I don't know what is.

Commentary * Vampire executioners must be licensed by the state they perform their killings in. But since many vampires cross state lines, executioners have more than one license.

* There are only eight legal vampire executioners that Anita can name, and two are retired. The following have been named in the books:

Anita Blake
 * Highest body count from one vampire was 23

Manny Rodriguez (retired)

Gerald Mallory (in his 60s)
* Known to have taken out a kiss of vampires which had killed over 100 people.
