Merle is around six feet tall. muscled and well built. He has white hair with generous streaks of gray. He has a gray moustache and a Vandyke beard. He has a ragged scar nearly bisecting his chest and stomach, and curling in a half moon around his belly.

Commentary

* Merle used to be the Nimir-Raj of the Maneater's Clan, but because he feared losing his humanity to Chimera, he "stepped down" and let Micah be Nimir-Raj.

* Merle acts fatherly towards Gina.

* Merle became Micah's head bodyguard after giving up being their leader.

* He is a practical man, which makes him all the more dangerous.

* He both admires and is jealous of Micah's ability to shift from human to leopard and then back to human again without falling into a coma-sleep.
