Deputy Holmes and her partner, whose name I couldn't remember, were lying in the snow dead. The Magnum had taken most of her chest. Her pixie-like features were slack and not half so pretty. With her eyes staring straight up she didn't look asleep. She just looked dead.

Commentary * Holmes and her partner Lind were called in to watch over the murder site when the county deputy, Aikensen was unable to do so. Titus was angry about this, but Garroway informed him that this was just a "babysitting" job to keep the crime scene pure.

* Lind was very tall and gaunt. He is also described as too young to shave. He was killed along with his partner, Holmes by Aikensen.

* Patterson was one of Titus' deputies at the scene of the crime.
