Commentary * John is alive, but Ivan, his father, died about six months prior to the events in BM.

* John's father, Ivan Greene, owned the land where the Lesser Rocky Mountain Trolls have made their home.

* Ivan stipulated in his will that if John were to die, the land would become an animal preserve for the trolls, and thus kept safe from Niley, who wished to dig it up in order to look for the spear that pierced Christ's side.
