* He is the first one to come upon Anita after she spends the night with Jean-Claude and she almost shoots him.

* Ernie wants to be a vampire and serves as Jean-Claude's lackey in order to go through his apprenticeship.

* Ernie came home too early from a family visit, though, and was strung up over a banquet table by the council. It is not mentioned if he is still alive.
