Dragons

... and it would have been a hell of a lot messier. Or maybe a lot neater.
A dragon would simply have swallowed the man whole.

(The Lunatic Cafe, page 61, paragraph 1)

Commentary * Dragons do exist, but they are not native to the USA.

* The Quetzalcoatl Draconus Giganticus was believed to be extinct until Anita met up with one in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They have six limbs (four legs and a set of wings). They have blue/green colored scales that are irridescent and shimmer in the light and a  white underbelly. The wings are  similar in color - irridescent on the outside, white underneath. A fringe of feathers surrounds its face like a peacock and it has large wide eyes which take up most of its face.

* The Quetzalcoatl Draconus Giganticus is somtimes classified as a subspecies of a dragon, and sometimes as a subspecies of gargoyle, although often they are classified in a group of their own. The only one mentioned directly in the Anita series is in Obsidian Butterfly.
