Dominga Salvatore |
Dominga Salvadore sat in her living room smiling. The little girl who had been riding on her tricycle on my last trip here was sitting in her grandma's lap. The child was as relaxed and languorous as a kitten. Two older boys sat at Dominga's feet. She was the picture of maternal bliss. I wanted to throw up. (The Laughing Corpse, page 231, paragraph 1) |

She is one of the most powerful voodoo priestesses in St. Louis. A
bokar. * Her basement is her humfo, where she stores much of her dark magic. * She made a gris-gris for Peter Burke so that he could raise very old dead. Unfortunately, he raised an animator/zombie that got out of control. So she killed him. * Dominga tries to get Anita to work with her. She has found a way to "capture a soul in a bottle." She then raises the body as a zombie and sticks the soul back into the body, making a bidable slave that will not rot like a normal zombie. She also waited with another body, letting it rot first, then sticking the soul back in so that it would stay that way. Anita refuses. * She sent a set of zombies to kill Anita, but they were unable to complete their task. * Using Anita's hair and nails, she was able to create a spell of compulsion to force her to obey her commands. Namely, to make a human sacrifice in order to raise a very old zombie. However, Anita managed to work the spell to her favor, and she was able to kill Dominga's bodyguard and Harold's bodyguard instead. Using the two human deaths, Anita made zombies kill her. |
