Professor Dallas |
|
|
Olaf was studying the doctor. He watched her, not as a man watches a woman, but as a cat watches a bird through cage bars. If Dallas noticed, she ignored it, but somehow, I think she didn't notice... That Dallas was oblivious to it made me worry about her, just a little, and made me very sure that I never wanted Olaf alone with her. Her survival instincts just weren't up to it. | Commentary |
* Dallas is the resident expert in
Albuquerque on Aztecs and she is enthralled by
Itzpapalotl. * She eats veal almost every night at the club, Obsidian Butterfly. * Dallas is a paradox because she fears Anita but not Olaf, so Anita doesn't trust her. * She doesn't realize Olaf's fixation on her and at the end of the book, he gives Anita the impression that he is going to kill Dallas. However, he doesn't. * Her house is a small ranch with faux adobe walls that glow in the early morning light. |
