I didn't know who Cristobal was, but there was a high keening sound. It
was the vampire on the leash. He unrolled from his tight fetal ball. The
keening ended in that same awful laughter that I'd heard earlier. The
laughter rose up and up until the vampire holding the leash jerked it
tight, pulling him like you'd discipline a dog. I realized that the
leash was a choke collar. (Obsidian Butterfly, page 224, paragraph 1) |

Cristobal, along with Diego, is a vampire
who was turned by Itzpapalotl because he was involved in raping and
nearly killing her priestesses with twelve other Spaniards. * He has a leash on his neck, specifically a choke collar. He walks on all fours - basically on his hands and feet. * He doesn't speak, but giggles insanely when addressed. |
