* OZY'S NOTES *
Yet again, just a single word
worth noting...
Episode 21, Maestro refers to Dio taking the test of 'agoon.'
'Agoon' (Greek: αγών) in this case,
is derived from ancient Greek, and means 'test.'
Mostly it was used to describe some difficult task for heroes.
(ironically enough, Dio is taking the test of 'THE test')
It also means the struggle in a war,
and later it was generalized into meaning all kinds of struggles.
Later on in Greek, it also came to describe
the efforts of someone in the Olympic games.
Today, the word 'αγώνας'
which is directly derived from the ancient Greek word,
has taken the meaning of 'race'
(even though it is still used in its old context).
so probably, the context intended there is the ancient one.
